Turkey Red is a heritage hard red winter wheat originally from Turkey. In the 1870s, this hardy heirloom traveled with Russian Mennonite immigrants to Kansas. It is celebrated for its exceptional flavor and baking qualities.

- Maturity: 110-125 days
- Broadcast in full sun around first frost date or up to 3 weeks before.
- Loosen soil before scattering 30-40 seeds per square foot; plant 1" deep.

I started a half pound of these in a rectangular area of my winter garden and this variety was the first to pop up. I have three other wheat varieties that are doing "ok" but so far this has out performed. Very interested in seeing how it all ends up. Excellent quality!
