Organic Japanese Buckwheat (Fagopyrum esculentum)
Although classified as a grain, buckwheat is not a true grass and is unrelated to wheat. Japanese Buckwheat is gluten-free and easy to thresh. Flour is used for baking, pancakes, kasha, and soba noodles. A terrific cover crop; loved by honeybees.
- 200 seeds minimum
- Germination: 3-5 days
- Maturity: 70-95 days
- Broadcast in full sun after the last frost date or 10-12 weeks before fall frost.
- Loosen soil before scattering 15 seeds per square foot. Plant ½” deep.
