Developed in the late 1800s by Massachusetts market gardeners, this reliable American staple yields heavy harvests of crisp, 6” long carrots that maintain their flavor when cooked. A fine choice for denser soils.
- 150 seeds minimum
- Germination: 14-21 days
- Maturity: 65-70 days
- Direct sow first crop as soon as soil can be worked in early spring. Gently press scattered seeds into loosened soil. Resow in late summer for a fall crop.
- Plant in full sun and water consistently.
- Space plants 2-3” apart in rows 12” apart.
