Native to India, Kantikari is a member of the nightshade family. This sprawling, spiny herb is valued for its medicinal properties, and its bitter yellow fruits are often used in curries and other Indian dishes. Violet flowers bloom throughout the growing season. Kantikari thrives in full sun and prefers loamy soil.

- Germination: 14-21 days
- Soak seeds overnight before planting. When temperatures reach 70°F, press seeds into containers filled with light weight seed starting mix. Lightly cover with seed starting soil, water, and drain. Plant containers in sunny garden location, digging them halfway into soil. Cover with loose, light mulch and monitor for germination. Remove mulch when germination begins. "Pot up" as plants mature or transplant to permanent location when seedlings are sturdy.
