Reported to date back to 1868, this Native American pole bean is also very hard. It is drought and heat resistant with deep dark red beans. It still possesses the native trait where the pods spring open when they are dry.

Direct seed after last danger of frost has passed in full sun. Beans need soil temperatures between 75-85 degrees F to sprout. Make sure to check your nighttime temperatures too. They will not sprout if soil temperatures are below 60 degrees F.
