White Sweet Spanish Onion (Allium cepa)
A large, globe-shaped white onion – sweet, very mild, and delicious row or cooked. This long-day favorite thrives in every growing region. Good storage qualities.
- 250 seeds minimum
- Germination: 10-21 days
- Maturity: 90-110 days from transplant
- Direct sow ¼” deep in full sun as soon as soil can be worked. In northern climates, start indoors 10-12 weeks before last frost date. Plant multiple seeds in each container. Harden off seedlings before planting.
- Plant 2 seeds per inch in rows 12-18” apart. Thin to 4-6” apart for larger onions. To transplant, separate young plants and set 4-6” apart.
