Umberto Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) Indeterminate
Named for the last king of Italy, this old Italian heirloom was nearly extinct until rescued by heirloom seed savers a few years back. Umberto yields pear-shaped paste tomatoes weighing 2 ounces. With its sweet and slightly acidic flavor, Umberto is excellent for canning and robust sauces.
