65-95 day. A great eggplant, with longer, dark purple teardrop shaped eggplants. It has larger plants that are fairly prolific, and does well in drought conditions. This eggplant is wonderful for roasting, with it's thin cross section that cooks evenly and quickly. It is delicious roasted and made into eggplant curry, served over rice for a wonderful side dish or vegetarian main course.
Minimum of 25 seeds per packet.
Planting Depth: 1/4 inch
Plant Spacing: 12-18 inches
Row Spacing: 2-3 feet
Start indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost. Requires soil temperatures of 80-90 degrees F to germinate so use of a heat mat is recommended. Transplant when all danger of frost has passed and temperatures stay warm. Make sure to check your nighttime temperatures as anything below 60 could stunt the growth of the plant. It is better to keep them indoors until nighttime temperatures warm. If you are in a cooler zone, eggplants do best in a greenhouse.
