105 day. A yellow, cipollini onion, Borettana is small but packed with flavor. Traditionally used as a pickling onion, Borrettana is also a great addition to fried potatoes, green beans or any other vegetable enhanced by the flavor of caramelized onions. Long to Intermediate day.
Minimum of 250 seeds per packet.
Planting Depth: 1/8 inch
Plant Spacing: 4-6 inches
Start indoors 8 weeks before last frost. Sow up to 100 seeds in a 4-6 inch pot. To transplant, separate out the small, grass-like seedlings by picking up a bunch and rolling them gently in your fingers. Trim the tops to 3 inches and roots to 2 inches before transplanting. Place in a shallow trench, 2-3 inches apart. Fill the trench and then water. Seedlings are very tough and transplant well.
