Avalanche Narcissus (Narcissus tazetta)
Originally known as Narcissus Seventeen Sisters, this fragrant heirloom was a favorite of Thomas Jefferson. Each stem produces clusters of 10-20 smaller flowers with white petals and lemon hued cups. Excellent for indoor forcing, Avalanche is hardy in Zone 6 and ideal for warmer climates. Deer and rabbit resistant.
Allow the foliage to thrive and die back naturally without braiding or premature removal. Bulb size: DNII. Bloom time in horticultural zone 5: April. Plant 6" to 8" deep and 6" apart. Horticultural zones 5-9. Height: 7" to 18". Narcissus classification: Royal Horticultural Society Division 8.
