80 day. This is a wonderful pole snap bean. It has beautiful purple flowers followed by round, deep purple pods. The dark purple pods stand out beautifully against the green foliage. But it's not just beautiful, it's delicious as well with tender and flavorful pods.
Minimum of 80 seeds per packet.

We grew these beans this past summer. They were planted using the three sisters method - with corn as a support and squash to keep the weeds down. They grew really well and the beautiful purple color of the beans makes it easier to find when picking. (Side note, the cooking water turns a really cool and bright lime green color. I saved the water for soups and such, but it's just plain fun to look at.) We're definitely growing them again.

This is the first year I've grown this bean (2013). I have picked and picked off of two pole bean towers at least 2 to 3 gallon of beans off of each tower. They are rich and meaty with very few strings. They are purple when picked and green when cooked. I will be planting them again.
