Aquilegia caerulea rocky mountain blue. These are one of the wonderful native flowers to North America. Rocky Mountain Blue is the original wild flower from the Rocky Mountains. They have beautiful spurred flowers with two tones of blue. They received their Latin genus name from the word for eagle, aquila, because the shape of the flowers is said to resemble an eagle's claw.
