Nasturtium are a wonderful flower for both ornamental use as well as in your garden. They are a good companion to beans, cucumbers and cabbage. All parts of the plant are edible, although the flower is the most often consumed part. The flowers are a unique addition to a salad. The unripe seed pods can be harvested and pickled with vinegar to produce a garnish that can be used instead of capers. Empress of India has beautiful red blooms.
